A little about me,

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Lived in Virginia for 20 years until we moved to Alabama.   I am the proud wife of a retired Navy sailor with whom I shared the experience of raising our sons in a blended family.  As our family has grown to add daughters in law and grandchildren we feel blessed and grateful for the experiences we have had as we all grow together.  Our faith has been the primary source of strength in our family.

My development as a counselor started in high school in a psychology class. I quickly became fascinated with human behavior and how it could open the path for me to help others.  I completed a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and my Master's in Marriage, Family & Child Counseling. I am Certified in the Gottman Couples Therapy Method and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).

Reflecting on how my experiences have shaped who I am today as a counselor, I can deeply relate to many of the challenges my clients experience.  Having personally experienced divorce, remarrying, and the complexities of raising children, some with special needs in a blended family, are some of those experiences. I also experienced the blessings and challenges of military life with my husband until he retired. Access to therapy was critical and helpful as we faced seasons of challenge and grew up together.

My faith and family are my driving forces. All the experiences we have had have made me even more committed to offering support to others.  Despite our challenges, we have grown and become Stronger Together.

I am passionate about working with clients improving their relationships in a manner that helps them create lasting and satisfying healthy connections.  I most enjoy working with clients that despite the challenges they may be facing are motivated to engage in the process and find new ways to meet their needs.
