As a Certified Gottman Couples Therapist I use the method with most of my couples. If it is not a good fit I will use other skills and strategies or refer to another provider only when appropriate based on therapeutic needs.

Pre Conditions that will prevent us moving forward with couples counseling, active, ongoing addictions, active ongoing abuse, serious mental health disorders untreated. Note, in any of this cases if you are in recovery and have treatment in placed for any of the issues mentioned before we can do a screening session to determine if you and your partner are ready to move forward with couples counseling.
